Regeneration in implantology: 2000 dentists meet in Lucerne
From April 22 to 24, more than 2000 dentists from 51 countries came together in the Culture and Congress Center in Lucerne for the Osteology congress. Here they learned about new treatment concepts for building up bone and soft tissue.
Even several weeks before the congress opened its doors, it was completely sold out. Daniel Buser from Berne, member of the Foundation’s Board and Scientific Chairman of the congress, feels that this can be attributed to the large interest in bone and tissue regeneration. «Today, more and more patients seek an optimal result in both white and red esthetics,» relates Buser. To achieve ideal and stable long-term results, a sufficient bone volume in both width and height is required. And for achieving this, the implantologist must often augment the
bone with suitable surgical techniques.
«Osteology is the only large, international symposium that focuses on the topic of regeneration. It is likewise well known for its superior scientific program and the beautiful congress location», added Buser.
For the first time, the congress was organized by the Osteology Foundation, which chose the motto, «Top science meets top architecture.»
