Hands-on workshop on "Indication based flap and suturing techniques proposed for hard and soft tissue augmentation"

Background
The selection of an appropriate flap design and suturing technique has a major impact on soft tissue wound healing and regeneration.
 

Learning objectives
The scope of this hands-on workshop are the following key areas:

  -

  Principals of soft tissue wound healing at implant sites and the edentulous ridge

  -

  Indication based flap design for implant placement and various types of ridge augmentation procedures (full flap vs. split flap)

  -

  Indication based flap design for soft tissue augmentation (keratinized tissue, volume augmentation, mucosal recessions)

  -

  Harvesting and handling of connective tissue and free gingival grafts

  -

  Handling of soft tissue substitutes

  -

  Suturing techniques (closure/ positioning and combination sutures)
