Osteology Research Scholarship Centre - Frankfurt am Main

The Osteology Research Scholarship Programme is housed primarily at the The Osteology Research Scholarship Programme is housed primarily at the Department of Oral Surgery and Implantology, Centre for Dentistry and Oral Medicine (Carolinum), Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. Research Scholars will also have the opportunity to spend time in the related Research Laboratory (FORM, Frankfurt Orofacial Regenerative Medicine) of the Department for Oral, Cranio-Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgery.
The Departments are Centres for Excellence in the field of Oral Surgery, Implant Dentistry and Regenerative Medicine. There are established collaborations with several Institutes and Clinics from the Medical Campus.

Fields of Research and Research Environment

The scientific work of the Scholarship Centre has a major focus on peri-implant disease, digital workflows, immediate implant placement, regenerative concepts in dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery. Special interest is directed to biomaterial-based regeneration, management and the implementation of innovative approaches (i.e. blood concentrates, scaffolds for regeneration of soft and hard tissues in the oral and maxillofacial area and autogenous tooth roots for alveolar ridge augmentation). The research laboratory considers translational research to understand regenerative mechanisms and translate them to clinical application. The established research methodologies are going beyond the state of the art.
