2nd Osteology Consensus Meeting

Peri-Implant tissues

On 13 June 2017, the 2nd Consensus Meeting of the Osteology Foundation on the topic: Evidence based knowledge in the aesthetics and maintenance of peri-implant tissues, took place in Weggis, Switzerland.

In two groups under the chairmanship of Ronald E. Jung, Switzerland, and Frank Schwarz, Germany, the effects of hard- and soft-tissue augmentation procedures on the maintenance of peri-implant tissues, as well aesthetics of peri-implant soft tissues were discussed, and the outcome was summarized in three consensus reports. The reports have been published with open access in a supplement of Clinical Oral Implants Research, together with four systematic reviews that were done in preparation of the consensus meeting.

Proceedings of the 2014 AAP Regeneration Workshop

Enhancing Periodontal Health Through Regenerative Approaches

On June 1-4, 2014 the AAP organised an international consensus workshop, co-chaired by the Osteology Board members William V. Giannobile and Pamela K. McClain. The workshop was of huge interest to the Osteology Foundation and therefore supported with an educational grant.

Periodontal Plastic Surgery and Soft Tissue Regeneration

Sharing the same goals made teaming up an easy task for the EFP and Osteology Foundation when they jointly steered the 10th European Workshop in Periodontology to success in November 2013 in La Granja de San Ildefonso, Spain.

6th Expert Meeting of the Osteology Foundation

Extraction Sockets 

“Linking Science with Practice” is the guiding principle of the Osteology Foundation. The 6th Osteology Expert Meeting, which took place in Zurich, Switzerland, in June 2011 was devoted to this motto. The aim of the meeting was to formulate statements and recommendations in the field of regeneration based on the current evidence.
