The Osteology Research Scholarship Programme is housed primarily at the Heinrich Heine University, Department of Oral Surgery in Düsseldorf, Germany. Research Scholars will have the opportunity to spend time in both the related Research Laboratories and Policlinic at the School of Dentistry.
The Department is a Centre for Excellence in the field of Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Dental Radiology, Implant Dentistry and Regenerative Medicine. There are established collaborations with several Institutes and Clinics from the Medical Campus.

Fields of Research and Research Environment

The scientific work of the Department of Oral Surgery has a major focus on the implementation of translational experimental and clinical research, thus linking dentistry with experts from various disciplines. In particular, the collaboration with physicists, chemists, biochemists, veterinarians and medical scientists resulted in a cross-over development of patent-registered medical devices. Furthermore, these collaborations were associated with improvements in research methodologies going beyond the state of the art.
