Osteology Research Scholarship Centre - Michigan

The University of Michigan Osteology Research Scholarship Programme is housed primarily at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine in Ann Arbor USA. Research Scholars will have the opportunity to spend time in the both the research laboratories and clinics at the School of Dentistry. The School of Dentistry is a Centre for Excellence in the field of Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Regenerative Medicine. There are very strong collaborations with the School of Medicine and College of Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering. 

Fields of Research and Research Environment

Focal areas of expertise are in regenerative biology, tissue engineering, stem cell biology and biomaterials.  Further, there are strong opportunities in host-microbial interactions, salivary diagnostics and oral cancer biology.

The University of Michigan is involved in all areas of research from basic, to translational and clinical.  State-of-the-art clinics and research laboratories allow scholars to explore cutting edge research areas related to all specialties in dentistry from periodontics, oral medicine, pathology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, orthodontics and pediatric dentistry.  Prospective fellows can contact the centre with questions regarding potential projects.
