João Batista César Neto D.D.S., M.S., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Stomatology (Division of Periodontics) at the University of São Paulo. Dr. César Neto received his dental degree at the University of Campinas (Piracicaba-Brazil), in 1998. He completed his periodontics training and Masters at the University of Campinas in 2002. In 2005, he received his PhD in Periodontics, at the University of Campinas, for his work on the effect of cigarette smoking on bone healing. He is a former professor of the department of Periodontology at the Federal University of Pelotas (2006-2009). Besides the academia, he maintains a private practice limited to periodontics and dental implants in Sorocaba, SP, Brazil. Author of several national and international peer reviewed publications and book chapters, his research focuses are periodontal plastic surgery and bone regeneration.
