The event started with an opening speech of the former President of the Osteology Foundation, Christoph Hämmerle, who welcomed the 90 participants and underlined the importance of continuous education in the field of research.
ORA Alumnis take over the lead
Now it was the turn of the ORA Alumnis. Moderator Matteo Cordaro from the University of Geneva handed over to France Lambert. The ORA participant in Lucerne 2011 and Kiel 2015, took over the lead and presented his personal benefits from the Osteology Research Academy followed by Yusuke Hamada, who held a lecture with the topic “Comparison of the released amount of growth factors from platelet rich fibrin (PRF) in healthy individuals and chronic periodontitis patients”.
After these two refreshing and interesting presentations, it was time for the former Osteology Research Scholar and ORA Alumni Ausra Ramanauskaite to speak about peri-implantitis. Ausra Ramanauskaite provided a broad overview about the current knowledge on peri-implantitis and future perspectives before Gonçalo Caramês entered the stage. The ORA Alumni from Rio de Janeiro 2017 presented a vibrant comparison of the reproducibility of assessment methods used for the quantitative measurements of mucogingival deformities around teeth. The final lecture was held by Teresa Chanting Sun who talked about the topic “Connective tissue graft- a powerful tool for soft tissue management.”
After the interesting lectures, the ORA Alumni had the possibility to enjoy a dinner and to talk about past times and future topics. Thank you to all the Participants and Speakers who made this event an unforgettable memory!
