Jae-Kook Cha is an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology at Yonsei University College of Dentistry in Seoul, Korea. He previously served as a Visiting Associate Professor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine during 2024/25. His research focuses on peri-implant diseases, translational periodontal research, and the integration of advanced diagnostic and regenerative approaches in implant dentistry.
Dr. Cha received his DDS from Yonsei University College of Dentistry and completed his residency training in periodontology at the same institution. He subsequently earned his PhD from Yonsei University. He further expanded his international research experience as an Osteology Research Scholar at the Complutense University of Madrid under the mentorship of Prof. Mariano Sanz.
He is actively engaged in the global dental research community and currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Periodontal Research and the International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, as well as Associate Editor of the Journal of Periodontal and Implant Science. He is also a member of the IADR Fellowship Committee and the Young Korean Academy of Science and Technology. Dr. Cha has received several prestigious awards, including the Outstanding Researcher Award from the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare and the ITI André Schroeder Research Prize for Clinical Research.
