Dr. Akcalı has clinical experience in periodontology and implantology with a particular emphasis on soft tissue regeneration. Besides, she has solid experience in the field of biomedical research and host defense mechanism. She has been actively publishing her scientific work and presenting her research findings in scientific dental meetings where she also received numerous prizes- ‘Senior Robert Frank Award-Clinical Research’ at the CED-IADR/NOF meeting, in 2015, IADR CED Travel Stipend (2011, 2014), TUBITAK Travel Award (2012, 2022), IADR Visiting Scholar Stipend (2012), Osteology Education Grand (2015, 2016), CED-IADR Senior Robert Frank Award Clinical Research 1st prize (2015), IADR Unilever Hatton Award 1st prize (2016).
