Emilio Cafferata

 

Emilio Cafferata (DDS, PhD) is a Research Associate in the Polyclinic of Oral Surgery, Implantology and Oral Medicine at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany, and a Research Professor at the Postgraduate School of Dentistry, Universidad Científica del Sur, Lima, Perú. His primary research interests focus on peri-implant biology, peri-implantitis immuno-pathology and the clinical–translational evaluation of biomaterials for peri-implant defect regeneration.

Dr. Cafferata earned his DDS from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and his PhD in Dental Sciences from the Universidad de Chile, where he completed his doctoral training at the Periodontal Biology Laboratory in Santiago, Chile. His academic development includes advanced research training in implant dentistry and oral surgery, with a strong emphasis on biological mechanisms underlying tissue regeneration and peri-implant diseases.

He joined Goethe University Frankfurt as an Osteology Research Scholar, where he continues to contribute to international collaborative research in oral regeneration and implantology. Through his dual academic appointments in Europe and Latin America, Dr. Cafferata is actively iinvolved in postgraduate education, mentorship, and the development of evidence-based clinical protocols in periodontology and implant dentistry.
