Jean-Claude Imber

 

Jean-Claude Imber is a Senior Staff Member and Senior Surgeon at the Department of Periodontology, University of Bern, Switzerland, with responsibilities in undergraduate and postgraduate education as well as clinical and scientific activities. His primary research focus is periodontal and peri-implant wound healing, regenerative therapies, and biomaterials, with an emphasis on soft-tissue biology and translational models. Dr. Imber earned his Master of Dental Medicine and Doctorate (Dr. med. dent.) from the University of Bern and completed advanced specialist training in periodontology, including a Master of Advanced Studies. Following a clinical and academic appointment at the University of Mainz, Germany, he returned to the University of Bern as an Osteology Research Scholar. He habilitated in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at the University of Bern under Prof. Anton Sculean, Prof. Dieter Bosshardt, and Prof. Giovanni Salvi, earning the venia docendi.
