Young Woo Song

DDS, PhD

Young-Woo Song is a periodontist and clinician-researcher who is working as a full-time faculty at Veterans Health Service Medical Center in Seoul, Republic of Korea. His research mainly focuses on oral tissue regeneration in the preclinical and clinical aspects, publishing numerous SCI(E) articles. After receiving bachelor’s degree in biology, he earned his DDS from Kyungpook National University in Daegu, Republic of Korea, and he finished periodontal residency and achieved PhD degree under the supervision of Ui-Won Jung in Yonsei University in Seoul, where he was further trained as a postdoctoral fellow for 2 years. From March of 2021 to February of 2022, he studied under David M. Kim as an Osteology Research Scholar in Department of Oral Medicine, Infection, and Immunity at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, conducting preclinical projects concerning periodontal and peri-implant tissue optimisation. Then he returned to Yonsei University as a clinical assistant professor of Periodontology, and in December of 2023, he moved to the current institution as a Director in Postdoctoral Periodontics.
