NOG USA Case Competition
For Young Periodontists
The National Osteology Group USA is excited to present its third annual Case Competition.
Six outstanding oral regeneration cases, selected across two competition categories, will be featured as oral presentations at the AAP Annual Meeting in Seattle. One winning case from each category will be awarded a prize in recognition of clinical excellence.

Regeneration and beyond
All cases belonging to one of the following categories and with the minimum follow up time are eligible:
Category 1:
Management of periodontal disease and conditions
This can include:
- Soft tissue or periodontal regeneration around teeth OR
- Multidisciplinary / interdisciplinary management of disease and conditions OR
- Scenarios where teeth were saved
Category 2:
Management of implant sites, peri-implant diseases and conditions
This can include:
- Implant site development (staged or simultaneous) OR
- Management of hard or soft tissue deficiencies around existing implants OR
- Management of hard or soft tissue deficiencies prior to implant placement OR
- Management of peri implantitis
Minimum requirements
- Treatment with a specific endpoint
- Follow up of at least 6 m post-surgical
- At least 2 additional timepoints documented

Submission Process:
- Join the National Osteology Group USA on the BOX (free login required)
- Go to the group. In the tab «Cases» you will find the case competition
- Click «View cases»
- To submit a case, you need to upload it to the Case Box first
- To join the competition, click on submit a case, and follow the instructions on the Case Competition page
- Submit proof of eligibility via email to: helen.poletan@osteology.org
- Residents in dental programs in the US can submit proof in the form of copy of identity card, along with your year of residency, and the name of your programme director/and or mentor.
- Young dentists graduated from US specialty dental program in the last 3 years can submit copy of graduation certificate, along with the year of graduation, and the name of your programme director and/or mentor.
Only cases uploaded to the Case Box and submitted as described above are eligible.
Three finalists are selected in each of the two categories:
- Soft tissue or periodontal regeneration around teeth
- Soft or hard tissue regeneration around implants
The six finalists are invited to the 112th Annual Meeting of the AAP taking place on 29 October - 1 November 2026 in Seattle to present their cases.
The six presenters will receive a travel grant of 1000 US$ and free registration to the AAP Annual Meeting.
Further details will be shared with the finalists by the end of September 2026.
